WHAT WE DO

We mainly do cross country rides which covers a great many different types of terrain including roads, bridlways, fields, moors, forest drives and the inevitable mountain. We try to respect footpaths but have been known to stray onto them accidentally sometimes.

Every so often those of us who have them switch to heavier bikes and look for more dramatic scenery to play on, such as the Black Rouites at the Scottish Seven Stanes trails, Hamsterley Forest or even Chopwell (Ryton area) and Thrunton Woods (Rothbury) where you can hurt yourself without too much effort!

We have also travelled further afield and some of us had a great Easter weekend in North Wales a couple of years ago. Others have ridden abroad in places as far apart as Peru, Lanzarote and Switzerland, but we don't do that every week.

What we really do is ride our bikes, enjoy the countryside, the banter and the time away from our daily toil.

Get out there, get in touch!

what you need
A mountain bike, anything will do but it should be reliable and safe, and a cycle helmet which we absolutely insist on for all rides.

why you need it
So that you can stop trying to keep yourself amused on lonely rides around your local area.

what will it cost you
Squat. Nuffink. All you need is you, your bike and a helmet,

what to do next
Send an e-mail to:

and tell us that you're interested, what type of riding you like to do, your approximate skill level, your age, area you live in (address not required) sex and as many other details as you dare. We will get back to you with everthing you need to know, including sometimes setting up initial "quiet" ride sessions away from the pressure of a large group of strangers. Phone numbers (home or mobe) may help us to organise things, but e-mail is perfectly acceptable.
